How to add a Left widget on your Mac desktop

macOS Sonoma introduced interactive widgets that sit directly on your desktop — visible at all times behind your app windows. Here's how to put Left on your Mac desktop.

Requirements

Step 1 — Install Left on Mac

Left is a universal purchase — if you own it on iPhone or iPad under the same Apple ID, download it on Mac from the Mac App Store at no extra cost. Open the Mac App Store and search for "Left".

Step 2 — Right-click the desktop to add a widget

  1. Click an empty area of your Mac desktop to make sure no app is in focus.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) on the desktop.
  3. Select Edit Widgets… from the context menu.

Step 3 — Find and add Left

  1. In the widget editor that slides up, search for "Left" or scroll to it.
  2. Click the + button on a Left widget to add it to the desktop, or drag it to a specific position.
  3. Click Done.
