How to organise items in Ahead or Since

Left can sort your items automatically, but automatic sorting is not always how people think about their own lives. The closest date is not always the most important date. The longest streak is not always the one you want to see first. Ahead lets you reorder dates you are looking forward to. Since lets you reorder streaks and habits. Your preferred order only appears when the section is sorted by Manual.

Step 1 — Open Ahead or Since

Open the section you want to organise:

1. Use Ahead for dates you are counting down to.
2. Use Since for streaks and habits.

The same idea works in both places.

Step 2 — Start reorganising

Long press an item, then tap Reorganise items.

You can do this from an Ahead date card, a streak card, or a habit card. Left enters reorganise mode and shows Cancel and Confirm at the top.

Step 3 — Drag items into place

Drag and drop the items into the order you want.

You can move items in grid, list, or card layouts. Keep dragging until the order matches how you want the section to appear.

Step 4 — Confirm the order

Tap Confirm to save the order.

If you change your mind, tap Cancel instead. Cancelling leaves the previous order unchanged.

Why Manual sort matters

Left can sort items in several ways. In Since, sort options include Newest, Oldest, A to Z, Z to A, Longest streak, Shortest streak, and Manual. In Ahead, sort options include Closest, Farthest, A to Z, Z to A, and Manual.

Your custom order is visible when sorting is set to Manual. When you tap Confirm after reorganising, Left switches the section to Manual automatically. If you later choose another sort order, the app will show that sort instead of your custom order.
