How to restore purchases
Restoring purchases means asking the App Store to check whether your App Store account already has an active Left purchase. It is not buying again. It is a way to reconnect a previous purchase to the app when Left does not immediately detect it — useful after reinstalling, switching devices, or restoring from a backup.
What restore purchases means
Purchases are connected to your App Store account. Left checks that purchase information and then updates what is available inside the app.
When you tap Restore purchases, Left asks the App Store for your existing purchase history and refreshes the app. If the App Store says you have an active purchase, Left applies it again. If the App Store does not return an active purchase, Left will show that nothing was found.
Restoring is safe to try. It checks for an existing purchase; it does not ask you to pay again.
Restore from the purchase screen
If you see a Left purchase screen:
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the restore button in the footer.
- Wait for Left to check your App Store purchase history.
If an active purchase is found, Left applies it. If nothing is found, Left will show a message saying no active purchase was detected.
Restore from Settings
You can also restore purchases from Settings.
- Open Settings in Left.
- Tap Troubleshooting.
- Tap Restore purchases.
- Wait for the restore result.
This is useful if you already closed the purchase screen or want to retry later.
Why manual restore can be needed
Left refreshes purchase status automatically when the app opens and when it returns to the foreground. Most of the time, you do not need to do anything.
Sometimes Apple's purchase servers or the purchase service do not return the purchase immediately. This can happen after reinstalling the app, changing devices, restoring from a backup, or opening the app with a poor network connection. In those cases, tapping Restore purchases manually asks the App Store to check again.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure you are using the same App Store account that made the purchase.
- Check your internet connection and try again.
- If restore says no purchase was found but you believe that is wrong, wait a few minutes and retry from Settings → Troubleshooting → Restore purchases.
- If the problem continues, contact support with the purchase receipt details available in your App Store purchase history.
