How Joint Ahead dates work

Ahead is for dates you are looking forward to: trips, birthdays, deadlines, events, and anything else that gives the future a shape. A Joint Ahead date is an Ahead date shared with friends. You create the date, invite one or more friends, and they can accept the invitation so the date appears for them too. The creator stays the admin; accepted participants keep the same countdown in their own Left.

What is a Joint Ahead date?

A Joint Ahead date is an Ahead date shared with friends. The creator is the admin. The admin can edit the main details and manage who is invited. Accepted friends also get the date in their Ahead view.

Multiple friends can join the same Joint Ahead date, so everyone can count down to the same plan.

Step 1 — Add friends

Joint Ahead works with friends, so add the people first.

Open Friends, tap +, and either share Your invite link or use Search by @username. Once someone accepts, you can invite them to an Ahead date.

Step 2 — Create or open an Ahead date

Open Ahead.

You can either:

1. Tap + and choose Add a date.
2. Open an existing Ahead date and edit it.

Step 3 — Invite friends

When creating or editing the date:

1. Turn on Friends.
2. Tap Add a friend.
3. Choose one or more friends.
4. Save the date.

Friends you invite may appear as Invited until they accept. The creator appears as Creator, accepted participants can appear as Friend, and your own row can appear as You.

Step 4 — Friends accept the invite

When someone receives a Joint Ahead invite, a bell badge can appear in Friends. Tapping it opens Requests.

Joint date invitations appear under Joint Ahead dates. The invited friend can accept with the checkmark or decline with the xmark.

After accepting, the date appears for them too. They can open it from Ahead or from the friend's shared profile area.

Managing a Joint Ahead date

The creator/admin can update the date details, add more friends, remove pending invites, or remove participants.

If you joined a date created by someone else, you can leave it with Leave date. Leaving removes it from your shared dates. It does not delete the date for the creator or other participants.

Joint Ahead is best for dates that belong to a group: a holiday, a concert, a shared launch, a wedding, or anything everyone wants to keep in view.
