Weeks until a date
Pick any date and instantly see how many weeks away it is — plus the remaining days.
Why count in weeks?
Weeks are a natural planning unit — most work schedules, project sprints, and school terms run in weekly cycles. Knowing you have "8 weeks" until a deadline is more actionable than "56 days": you immediately know you have 8 Monday mornings to make progress.
How to use weeks for planning
- Work backwards — if you have 12 weeks, assign 3 weeks to each phase of a project
- Training plans — marathon and fitness plans are always written in weeks; use this tool to see how many training blocks you have
- Pregnancy — pregnancy is measured in weeks; see the due date calculator for a dedicated tool
- Habit building — research suggests 8–12 weeks to form a reliable habit; knowing how many weeks remain keeps you committed
Weeks vs. days
This tool shows total full weeks plus remaining days. For example, 30 days = 4 weeks and 2 days. The number of full weeks is always rounded down (floor). If you want the full day count, use the days between two dates tool.
