Time left in the year
How much of this year is still ahead of you? The exact time remaining until midnight on December 31st — live, right now.
How the calculation works
The calculator measures the difference between the current moment and midnight at the end of December 31st in your local time zone. A standard (non-leap) year has 365 days; a leap year has 366. The tool accounts for this automatically based on the current year.
Why seeing time left in the year matters
Most people measure time from January 1st — goals set, resolutions made. But knowing how much is left is just as important. 60 days remaining in the year is enough to build a meaningful new habit, finish a project, or check off a goal you've been putting off.
Left's year-progress widgets put this number on your Home Screen permanently. When you see "43 days left" on your Lock Screen every morning, it changes how you spend them.
What to do with the time you have
- Review your annual goals and assess what's still achievable
- Schedule the trips or events you've been delaying
- Set a 30-day habit challenge in Left before the year ends
- Use the remaining weeks to build momentum for next year
Leap years
A leap year adds one extra day — February 29th — making the year 366 days long. Leap years occur in years divisible by 4, except century years, which must be divisible by 400. The next leap year after 2024 is 2028.
