Time passed in the year
How much of this year has already gone by — measured from the first second of January 1st to right now.
What this measures
The counter runs from January 1st at 00:00:00 in your local time zone and counts forward to the current moment. It's the mirror image of the time left in the year tool — together they always add up to exactly 365 (or 366 in a leap year) days.
The feeling behind the number
Watching the day count climb is a different emotional experience from watching it fall. Knowing that 200 days of this year are gone doesn't have to feel like loss — it can be a prompt to look back at what you've built in those 200 days and decide what you want to do with the remaining 165.
Left's "year elapsed" widgets put this number on your Home Screen so it's always in view, not just when you think to check.
Using the elapsed count for goal-setting
- If 60% of the year is gone and your annual goals are 60% complete, you're on track.
- If you're behind, the remaining days are the actual resource you have to catch up.
- Habit streaks feel more meaningful when you know you've kept them up for 180 of the 200 days that have passed.
