Days until Halloween
The exact time until October 31st — live, to the second.
Halloween is always October 31st
Unlike Easter or Thanksgiving, Halloween always falls on a fixed date: October 31st. This means the countdown is simply the number of days from today until October 31st of the current or next year.
Halloween lands shortly after the autumnal equinox (September 22–23) and just before All Saints' Day (November 1st). In the old Celtic calendar, October 31st was Samhain — the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the dark half of the year.
Planning for Halloween
- Costumes — allow 2–4 weeks for ordering or making a costume
- Decorations — most decorating happens in October, but planning earlier helps
- Candy — stock up in the final week
- Parties — venues book up, so plan at least a month out
