1. Left: habits next to the rest of your time
Left is a time awareness app for iPhone. Habits, streaks and Aims live in Since, next to countdowns in Ahead and year and life progress in Time Left, so your habits sit inside a view of how much of the week, month and year is left.
- Habits: set a goal per day, week or month and how many times. Schedules include every day, weekdays, weekends, specific days or a number of days per week. Each habit can have up to 4 reminders, and Get a persistent reminder shows a Live Activity an hour before a time you choose if the habit still isn't logged.
- Streaks: for quitting something or keeping a run going. A streak counts up automatically from Started on... until you restart it, and keeps your restarts, average streak and longest streak. It does the job of a negative task in Streaks.
- Aims: count up or down toward a target, with a unit and an optional deadline.
- Widgets: the Habit widget is interactive: tap today's symbol to log it from the Home Screen. It also works as a rectangular Lock Screen widget. The Habits list widget shows 4 or 8 habits, and Streak, Streaks list, Aim and Aims list widgets cover the rest. These widgets are free.
- Left Premium extras: unlimited habits, streaks and Aims; Apple Health tracking, where a habit completes when you meet its goal; and friends, who can follow your habits and streaks for accountability.
Best for: people who want habits, quit streaks and goals alongside countdowns and a sense of time left, with widgets on the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
Price: free to download. The free plan includes 2 habits, 2 streaks, 2 Aims and 2 countdowns, and the count includes every item you've ever created, so deleting one doesn't free a slot. Left Premium is a subscription or a lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Pros: free to start; an interactive habit widget; Lock Screen widgets and a habit Live Activity; quit streaks with restart history; countdowns and time left views in the same app.
Cons: only 2 free habits and 2 free streaks, far fewer than Streaks' 24 tasks; Apple Health tracking needs Left Premium; needs an iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
2. Awesome Habits: Habit Tracker
By Michal Tuma. Its App Store page lists daily, weekly and monthly goals, timed goals, heatmaps and statistics, Health app integration, reminders and alarms, interactive widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy, interactive Live Activities and the Dynamic Island, Control Center widgets, Apple Watch complications and a Smart Stack widget, Siri Shortcuts, iCloud sync and CSV export.
Best for: people who want Lock Screen and StandBy widgets, Live Activities and Apple Watch complications in a tracker that's free to start.
Price: free to download, with Premium monthly, yearly or lifetime. The listing doesn't say what the free version includes.
Pros: Lock Screen, StandBy and Control Center widgets, Live Activities and Apple Watch complications; privacy label says Data Not Collected.
Cons: free limits aren't stated; fewer ratings (940) than the bigger names.
3. HabitKit
By Sebastian Roehl. Its App Store page describes a grid of tiles per habit, "like a contribution graph", for building or quitting habits, with yes/no, count or unit goals, flexible schedules, streak goals and notes on any day. It needs no account and works offline.
Best for: people who are motivated by watching a grid fill in.
Price: free for up to four habits, including streaks, statistics, notes and reminders. HabitKit Pro, monthly, yearly or lifetime, unlocks unlimited habits, Home Screen widgets, restoring archived habits and more reminders.
Pros: a clear free tier; no account, no ads; 4.8 from 2,492 ratings; daily iCloud backup.

Best for: a free-to-start tracker with social features and the largest review base here.
Price: free to download, with monthly, yearly and lifetime options in its in-app purchases.
Pros: 4.8 from 148,034 ratings; Apple Watch; group habits with friends; location-based reminders.
Cons: the long feature list doesn't say which parts are free; it does a lot, which can feel busy next to Streaks' simplicity.
5. Habitify: Habit Tracker
By Unstatic Ltd Co. Its App Store page lists automatic logging from Apple Health, Google Health, Fitbit, Strava, Screen Time and RescueTime, an API, MCP and App Intents, an AI assistant, streaks and charts, smart reminders, notes, mood tracking, a timer and friendly challenges, synced across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

Best for: people who track numbers and deadlines as well as daily habits.
Price: free to download. Strides Plus, monthly, annual or lifetime, unlocks unlimited trackers, sync between iPhone, iPad and Mac, tags and filters, data export and more.

Price: free to download, with Atoms Pro monthly or annual.
Pros: 4.8 from 10,749 ratings; guided setup based on the book; Apple Watch.
Cons: last updated in February 2026; Apple Health isn't mentioned and widgets appear only in a release note; its privacy label lists contact info, identifiers, usage data and user content as linked to you.
How we chose
- Starting point: the apps most often suggested as Streaks alternatives, plus a US App Store search for habit trackers on 20 October 2026.
- Kept: habit trackers updated in the last 12 months with thousands of ratings or a feature set close to Streaks, and a free way to start.
- Left out: apps with only a handful of ratings, and apps whose listings describe a narrower job.
- Sources: each app's own App Store page and Apple's lookup data. No paid placements, and no developer reviewed this page.
- Fair cons: where a listing doesn't mention a feature we say so instead of assuming it's missing. Check the App Store page before you buy, because plans change.
